There is ample free parking, including disabled spaces and the grounds give the impression of solitude, whilst the Hotel is within easy access of the Broch area. There are stunning views across the River Ugie estuary. Local attractions include parks, a nature reserve, lighthouses and some great walks.

Peterhead Gym


The gym is free to the hotel guests and the public can purchase membership. There is a one off joining fee for each new membership, with discounts for couples, senior citizens, children and families. Peterhead and the nearby Fraserburgh is a fishing and offshore working community and the hotel recognises this by giving further discounts to fishermen and offshore workers.

If you are more likely to use the gym and leisure club facilities between 1200 - 1600 hours midweek then you can take advantage of the reduced off peak membership package.


The annual fee is then paid monthly and a direct debit can be easily set up to spread the costs.


Members can bring up to 2 guests to the gym and leisure club for a small charge.


The leisure club and gym is open from 0700 - 2200 midweek and 0730 - 2100 at the weekends.


Members are entitled to 10% off at the restaurant and 10% off beauty treatments such as massages, facials, etc. Read about the beauty treatments.


The gym is equipped with a range of free weights, weight machine, treadmills and cycle and rowing machines. Upon membership you get an induction on how to use each machine. The staff are able to give you an exercise regime upon request, either for general fitness, weight loss or to muscle bulk.


The heated swimming pool does have some set exercise classes, such as aqua aerobics, though these are run by members, rather than the trained staff.


The changing rooms have locker facilities.


The large jacuzzi and steam room are open and free to all members.

Directions - From Aberdeen take the A90, going past Balmedie, Hatton, Ellon and Stirling Village. At the Peterhead McDonalds take the left turn road after the restaurant. Follow the road to the end and the Waterside Inn can be seen.
