High Tea In Banchory Scotland

- Where To Go To Enjoy High Tea, Cakes, Scones, Toast, Biscuits And Pots Of Tea.

The Burnett Arms Hotel in Banchory

A delicious and reasonably priced high tea awaits visitors to The Burnett Arms Hotel in Banchory. This 18th Century former Coaching Inn has been renovated into a 16 roomed Best Western Hotel which welcomes guests and visitors to its restaurant.

The decor gives an air of relaxation and the large windows and light wallpaper brightens up the restaurant. Tables are well spaced and the chairs are very comfortable. There are several steps into the Hotel and we couldn't see any disabled access, though I think there may be access for wheelchair users at the rear.

My new novel:

The Fence Aberdeen Zombie post apocalyptic military survival Novel Book

The Aberdeen skies are under attack from an enemy jet. It is spilling a strange yellow smoke. Minutes later, people start killing each other.
Former Royal Air Force Regiment Gunner Jason Harper witnesses this and then his wife, Pippa, telephones him, shouting that she needs him. They then get cut off. He sets straight out, unprepared for the nightmare that unfolds during his journey. Everyone seems to want to kill him.
Along the way, he pairs up with fellow survivor Imogen. But she enjoys killing the living dead far too much. Will she kill Jason in her blood thirst? Or will she hinder his journey through this zombie filled dystopian landscape to find his pregnant wife?
The Fence is the first in this series of post-apocalyptic military survival thrillers from the torturous mind of local horror and science fiction novel writer C.G. Buswell.

Menu At The Burnett Arms Hotel in Banchory

The service at The Burnett Arms is very efficient, no sooner had we had our toast and were adding butter and delicious strawberry jam, than our main meals were served! Piping hot and with generous portions we were served with a separate dish of huge helpings of chips and potatoes. I opted for a meaty steak pie which was generously soaked in gravy with a lovely soft inner crust with a top flaky crust. Other choices include steak, chicken breast, haddock, omelettes, scampi, liver and bacon, chicken maryland, fried chicken fillets and breakfast fry up dish. Most dishes are around the £8 price, which includes pots of tea which is refilled upon request, a round of toast and a plate of freshly home baked cakes and hot scones, butter and jam.

The attentive waitress service continued as we were topped up with fresh pots of tea without having to ask. The cakes arrived soon after the main dish plates were cleared. The cakes were equally delicious and the scones were fantastic with butter, lovely and warm and moistly crumbled in the mouth. We also had some rock cakes, iced buns and rice crispy chocolate cakes - all freshly made that day.

The Burnett Arms Hotel also serves bar meals, morning coffee and afternoon teas in the reception lounge. Four course dinners are served after high tea.

The Hotel rooms are en-suite and have Sky Television, a writing desk, hairdryer, telephone and tea and coffee making facilities.

Aberdeen Lynne Golden Retriever

Have you seen my beautiful golden retriever Lynne out and about in Aberdeen? Ask her for a high-five! She's a Bravehound PTSD assistance dog, so we'll often be in shops, restaurants, and the cinema together.

We've written a book where I talk about growing up in Aberdeen and then joining the army to be a medic and nurse, and developing military Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I also talk about losing my son to suicide and the therapy I have had at Royal Cornhill Hospital and grief support groups in Aberdeen.

The author, Damien Lewis, said of Lynne:

"A powerful account of what one dog means to one man on his road to recovery. Both heart-warming and life-affirming. Bravo Chris and Lynne. Bravo Bravehound."
