Joan Bell Jean Perkins Aberdeen
Joan Bell formed a group with her twin sisters, Carole and Sue Bell, in the 1960s called The Three Bells. She was
known then as Jean or Joan Bell and started her show business career aged seven. Her parents, Tommy and Rose, encouraged
their daughters to appear in many stage shows and talent shows. By the age of eleven the girls won a top talent
contest at Blackpool which led to appearances with Morecambe and Wise at Central Pier.
Though they were from Liverpool, Joan now lives in Dyce, Aberdeen and her married name is Jean Perkins. Her husband, Ted,
is a manager at Helicopter CHC Scotia. Joan worked for Aberdeen Journals as a field sales executive.
Songs Of The Three Bells
The Three Bells were a popular International act. As well as singing throughout the UK they gave live performances
in Spain and Germany at the Star Club, Hamburg. The manager of The Three Bells was John Burges and their record
labels were Columbia, Pye, CBS and Decca. They were also known as The Bells and The Satin Bells. Their most popular
singles were:

- Taurus In Mexico
- Da Di Da Da
- He Doesn’t Love Me
Film Appearances of The Three Bells
The singing trio of The Three Bells appeared in the 1966 film The Ghost Goes Gear which starred the Spencer Davis
Group. The movie is about their manager who lives in an old mansion and cannot afford its upkeep so the group
invent a ghost, which they advertise and then charge people to visit the mansion.
Television Appearances of The Three Bells
The singing trio of The Three Bells appeared on many TV programmes on channels BBC1 and BBC2 which included:
