My new novel:

The Fence Aberdeen Zombie post apocalyptic military survival Novel Book

The Aberdeen skies are under attack from an enemy jet. It is spilling a strange yellow smoke. Minutes later, people start killing each other.
Former Royal Air Force Regiment Gunner Jason Harper witnesses this and then his wife, Pippa, telephones him, shouting that she needs him. They then get cut off. He sets straight out, unprepared for the nightmare that unfolds during his journey. Everyone seems to want to kill him.
Along the way, he pairs up with fellow survivor Imogen. But she enjoys killing the living dead far too much. Will she kill Jason in her blood thirst? Or will she hinder his journey through this zombie filled dystopian landscape to find his pregnant wife?
The Fence is the first in this series of post-apocalyptic military survival thrillers from the torturous mind of local horror and science fiction novel writer C.G. Buswell.

Aberdeen Lynne Golden Retriever

Have you seen my beautiful golden retriever Lynne out and about in Aberdeen? Ask her for a high-five! She's a Bravehound PTSD assistance dog, so we'll often be in shops, restaurants, and the cinema together.

We've written a book where I talk about growing up in Aberdeen and then joining the army to be a medic and nurse, and developing military Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I also talk about losing my son to suicide and the therapy I have had at Royal Cornhill Hospital and grief support groups in Aberdeen.

The author, Damien Lewis, said of Lynne:

"A powerful account of what one dog means to one man on his road to recovery. Both heart-warming and life-affirming. Bravo Chris and Lynne. Bravo Bravehound."

Advertise On About Aberdeen

On Saturday 29 October 2012 Union Square Aberdeen celebrated its second anniversary and provided aboutaberdeen with some figures about the Aberdeen shopping centres activity. Since it opened there have been over 25 million shoppers and over 1,450 jobs created across retail, leisure and hotel sectors. This record 25 million foot fall equates to over 240,000 shoppers each week for the last two years. Union Square Aberdeen shopping centre continues to grow and in the last year has seen seven more new retail and leisure brands and a further two new restaurants opened. This includes the first stand-alone Hugo Boss store in Aberdeen and the new House of Fraser store which is the UK’s first buy and collect House of Fraser.com store. Whilst the UK market averageshopping centres have a vacancy rate of 12% Union Square Shopping Centre Aberdeen can boast an impressive 95% let by income and 93.5% let by space.

Ryan Manson, general manager, Union Square shopping centre said:

We’ve had an astonishing two years in Aberdeen. From being the new kid on the retail block 24 months ago, we have now welcomed over 25 million shoppers, as well as some of the world’s biggest brands to the city. We like to continually better our retail offer and last week saw the opening of the UK’s first House of Fraser.com buy and collect store earlier this month. In the same week, we recorded one of our busiest ever weeks. We believe that the brands on offer at Union Square demonstrate a strong demand in the city for continued retail investment and we look forward to another strong year ahead.

Aberdeen City Council's Convener of Enterprise, Planning and Infrastructure Councillor Kate Dean, said:

The success of Union Square gives a clear signal that the city remains a vibrant and successful destination. The number of retailers new not only to Aberdeen, but to Scotland, demonstrates the potential in our local economy and confidence in Aberdeen's ability to lead Scotland's recovery. The centre has helped to secure Aberdeen's place as a major shopping, leisure and tourism destination. This £275 million development, which generated many new jobs for Aberdeen, continues to promise great things for the local economy. A great deal of hard work was put in by the council, in partnership with city centre stakeholders to maximise the benefits to the city of Union Square opening and I am proud to see how well that has come to fruition.
