    Sheena Sharp Huntly

    Biography of Sheena Sharp from Huntly Aberdeenshire - Commonwealth Games Gold Medal Shooter

    Sheena Sharp (nee Gibbon) was born on the 13 April 1953 at Torphins, Aberdeenshire. She works as an office manager. Her local shooting clubs are the Huntly Rifle Club and the Bon Accord Rifle Club. Her coach is Donald McIntosh. Sheena has represented Scotland in two Commonwealth Games in the 50 metre Rifle Prone event - in 2002 where she won Silver (missing the gold by one point) and in 2006 where she won a Gold medal, and lead the way by five clear points. She promptly followed this with another Gold medal for the women's 50m Rifle Prone individual event.








    Sheena represents Scotland in the shooting team. Her shooting partner is Susan Jackson. Sheena holds the Scottish record with personal best score of 594 out of 600 in the 50m Rifle Prone events.

    Aberdeenshire Sports Council 2003 Sports Awards Sportswoman of the Year.
    Silver medal in the 2002 Commonwealth Games, Manchester, UK, Prone Pairs Event.
    Over 27 caps for representing Scotland, including Scottish 50m Women's Prone Champion 2001, 2002 and 2004.
