The name Satrosphere comes from the ‘Science And Technology Regional Organisation’ (SATRO) who opened the centre and decided to call it SATRO sphere.

Satrosphere Science Centre is often mistakenly called the Stratosphere - I called it this for several years!

The Satrosphere has a twin Science centre in Dundee called Sensation that is of equal fun and educational. As the name suggests the regular interactive displays are based around the senses and there are special events and exhibitions each month. For more information and photographs read the aboutaberdeen review of the Sensation Dundee Science Centre.
