The Aberdeen Santa Run takes place on the 6 December 2009 at 1pm at Pittodrie Stadium. The Aberdeen Santa Run is a 6km fun run along Aberdeen's beautiful beach front with a festive twist...all participants will be wearing Santa Suits! The first Aberdeen Santa Run took place in 2008 with more than one thousand people from across Aberdeenshire and beyond taking part. This fun Christmas event was covered by STV, the Sun and the Daily Record. This year's Santa Run event is set to be even bigger and better!

Anyone can enter the Aberdeen Santa Run and the Christmas event is not just restricted to runners but to walkers too: the emphasise is to have fun! The route finishes with the prestige of being able to perform a spectacular Santa lap of honour around the pitch at Pittodrie Stadium, home to Aberdeen FC! The organisers of Santa Run, Wild Day Out, hope that participants of the Aberdeen Santa Claus Run will take part with their friends and family or as part of an office, school or club team.

The Aberdeen Santa Fun Run is being held to raise money for WildHearts which is a dynamic Scottish charity that transforms lives by giving people a hand up, not a hand out. WildHearts use microfinance to give people in the developing world the chance to work their own way out of poverty. This is a fantastic gift to give people at Christmas and there will be awesome prizes up for grabs for those fundraisers that really go for it! Participants can set their own fundraising target, but everyone should raise a minimum of £30 for WildHearts.
