    Peterhead Author Robert Stephen

    Biography


    General Practitioner Robert Stephen has an interest in the Scot's language which has seen him translate The Fables of Aesop into Scots Verse. He did this in his free time whilst working as a Doctor in the oil rigs. It was first published in 1987 by Aulton Press and his since seen two more re-prints.

    Robert Stephen's love of the Scottish language and in spending time writing saw him translate the Bible to Scots. The book is called In The Beginning.


    His third book is a children's book with poems called Troll Tales. It has pictures and illustrations by Rolf Lidberg based on his famous postcards.


    Robert was born in Peterhead and went to Peterhead Academy. He left school at 17 and worked at sea for a year. He then studied medicine at Aberdeen University. He graduated in 1977 and worked in hospital posts as a Doctor before becoming a GP. He later combined working as a family Doctor in a rural community with working as an offshore Doctor for the company Shell.
