Mothers Day Aberdeen
Whether she's your Ma, Maither, Mither, Mum, Mummy or Mother she deserves a real treat on Mothering Sunday. Mothers Day 2009 takes place on Sunday 22 March. Below

As a special gift for mums and dads to be this Mothering Sunday weekend,
Union Square Aberdeen Shopping Centre, and the store Mamas and Papas, will be hosting a unique parenting event for Aberdonians this Saturday (2nd April 2011).
Experts from NCT, the UK’s largest charity for parents, will be on hand to offer free tips and advice while the Union Square Mamas and Papas store will be giving away in-store hand massages to help pamper mums to be.
Many studies show that pregnancy can be a stressful time for parents with a combination of increased hormonal activity and the natural worries about bringing a baby into the world. Representatives from NCT will be giving mini-seminars this Saturday designed to put the minds of parents at rest. The sessions will cover many aspects of pregnancy and parenting from pregnancy, and birth to the early days of parenthood. There will be a special focus for dads, who are not always able to make anti-natal classes.
During this Mother’s Day event there will be something to keep the kids entertained too with Lisa Bobbins, the popular Aberdeen children’s entertainer, providing balloon modelling, face painting and clown performances.
Aberdeen born, new mum Natalie Simpson, said:
“When I was pregnant, my partner wasn’t always able to make the ante-natal classes and he really felt like he was missing out. It’s reassuring when you’re having a baby to get as much information as possible, especially when it’s your first child, I think it’s a great idea to run an event like this – you can never know too much when you’re expecting a baby. The baby shower sounds fun too!”
Rebecca Muirhead, manager of Mamas and Papas, Union Square said;
“We see mums and dads come into store at all stages in the process of having a baby, it’s an exciting time. We’re hoping this event – just in time for Mothering Sunday – will be a real benefit for parents to be who can come and quiz the specialists at NCT.”

Mothers Day Carvery Lunch Aberdeenshire
Mothers Day Carvery Lunch or Evening Meal on 18 March 2007 at The Colquhonnie Hotel, Strathdon, Aberdeenshire have an offer of a Two Course Carvery Lunch at only £10 per person which
includes a free glass of sparkling wine for mum.
Lunch will be served from 12 till 2pm. Diners can choose from either a starter and main or main and desert or a three
course evening meal at only £15 per person which includes a free glass of sparkling wine for mum.
