    Mintlaw

Information about Mintlaw village in Aberdeenshire with facilities, parks, places to visit and where to stay:

The picturesque village of Mintlaw is at the heart of the North East of Grampian. Surrounding towns include Fraserburgh, Peterhead and the City of Aberdeen. Mintlaw grew from the 18th Century when houses and facilities were built for farm workers and their families in nearby farming and wild stock estates. Though the farm estates are largely gone (some are now what is now Aden Country Park) the village has grew and has its own schools and Academy, Town Hall, surgery, chemist, Post Office, banks, bakers, garages, grocery shops, newsagents, takeaways and restaurants, hairdresser, butchers and The Pitfour Arms Hotel.

Attractions in Mintlaw include a beautifully maintained Market Square Garden with War Memorial, the Aden Country Park, Farming Museum and the Happy Plant Garden Centre which serves delicious meals. The Aden Country Park has some relaxing walks and there is a disused railway line that has been converted to a cycle and walking path.
