Meredith Brown
Biography
Meredith Brown was born in Aberdeen in 1845. She lived at 78 Dee Street. This is now used by Albyn House Association.
A plaque is there in honour of this early Aberdeen social reformer.
In the 1880s she moved to London to help improve the lives of girls who worked in factories.
Meredith Brown set up a meeting place for the girls to meet in their free time. She would visit the slums where they lived,
dressed as a factory girl, to learn more about them.
More famous historical Aberdonians.
