Ian Pirie Aberdeen Actor
Biography of Aberdeen actor Ian Pirie with his film TV and stage performances:
Ian Pirie is an actor from Mastrick in Aberdeen, Scotland. He got the acting bug whilst performing during amateur dramatics in between his welding
job for an Aberdonian refrigeration company. He decided to become a full time actor and gave up his work as a welder and moved with his wife and children to London in
1992.
Musical Sunshine On Leith
Ian still returns to his native Aberdeenshire and in May 2007 he appeared at
His Majesty's Theatre to act in the musical Sunshine On Leith which told the story of two army buddies who returned to Edinburgh from the war in the desert. The story of their life is accompanied by songs from favourite Scottish group The Proclaimers. IanPirie plays a gospel priest and barman who supports the football team Hibernian (The Reid brothers are staunch Hibs supporters) and narrates the bar scenes. He also plays Rab, the father.

Ian Pirie is married to Jacqueline. Their son is called Daniel and their daughter is called Hannah.
Ian is a trained welder and studied a YTS course in welding. His first full time job was making cold container stores and ice bunkers for ships. His father was a blacksmith and Ian became a top welder, achieving a G6.
Despite living in London IanPirie remains a Dons supporter.
