    Huntly Hairst Halloween Food Festival


    Information about the Huntly Hairst Halloween and food festival:


    The first Huntly Hairst Halloween Food Festival will be held between the 2 and 4 November 2007 at Huntly in Aberdeenshire. It aims to be a celebration of the North East of Scotland food and traditions and ties in with a bit of fun from Halloween. Family centred events will take place on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Celebrity guest will be food critic and journalist Nell Nelson who appears on STV in the television programme The Woman Who Ate Scotland as she cycles to Scottish restaurants, hotels and other places of food interest sampling the great cuisine from Scotland.

    Events during the Huntly Hairst Halloween Food Festival include:

    • Children's Fancy Dress Competition

    • Neatest Neep Lantern

    • Drive in film shows

    • Music

    • Dancing

    • Ceilidh

    • Food shows including a Ready Steady Cook type event

    • Food trail by bicycle

    • Huntly Farmers market with live animals for the children to see

    • Farm Visit to Wellheads Farm

    • Best Stovies In The World Competition










    Events take place in local venues such as Castle Hotel, the Glendronach Distillery, Cooper Park, Huntly Castle, the Rose and Thistle Bistro, Brander Library, The Square, Gartly Hall, The Stewart's Hall
