Pennan where the movie Local Hero was filmed and is famed for its stunning scenery and harbour. Gardenstown itself is no stranger to film cameras. The reality TV series The Baron of Troup was filmed in Gardenstown with scenes of the red sandstone cliffs, the beach and fishermen cottages. Many locals appeared in the series and this included a behind the scenes look of the butchers, the traditional Scottish bakery and the local pub The Garden Arms. All can be visited by guests to this Scottish holiday cottage.
Aberdeen City is about fifty minutes drive away through the picturesque Aberdeenshire countryside.

There are no disabled access but the bathroom has a shower and bath and the kitchen is of modern design with a ceramic hob free standing cooker, Bosch dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. This is particularly useful for those enjoying the many walks around the coastline. Facilities include a television, DVD player and ipod dock.

East Toll Cottage Aboyne
East Toll family cottage is located in the heart of
Aberdeenshire in the tranquil Royal Deeside. The City of Aberdeen is a pleasant 30 minutes drive away. Local attractions
include Braemar Castle,
Crathes Castle and
Crathie Church.
The East Toll cottage has two bedrooms and the cottage is available to rent between the months of March and October.
The cottage is steeped in Scottish history and dates back to 1790. It was originally a Toll House where visitors
to Aboyne would have to pay a charge to enter the area. The East Toll House is a Grade B listed building.
