Aberdeen Highland Games and Aberdeenshire Gatherings
Scotland has a long tradition and history of Highland Games where Clans would compete against each other in sporting events. Early
Celts viewed such events as war games where their strongest and bravest soldiers would win the games. It's a lot more
civilised now! Highland games are sociable and fun events.
Events traditionally include caber tossing, hammer throwing, Highland dancing and piping. In between events there
are displays and pipe and drum bands.
