    A wonderful Halloween event in Aberdeen is run by Aberdeen Ghost Walks where you can explore the city's haunted history and learn about the spooky and dark side of the Granite City. Reveal in the grim and gruesome ghost stories that have shaped Aberdeen's darker history. Regale in tales of witches, trial and punishment, smuggling and even famous battles during the Halloween ghost tour. This unique, amusing and chilling ghost trip takes place on Saturday 31 October 09 at 7pm, 9pm and 11pm and on Sunday 1 November 2009 at 7pm and 9pm. Halloween ghost tours cost only £5 per person and booking is essential because places are limited.     Halloween Party

    Halloween Party at the Malt Mill, Holburn Street, Aberdeen on Saturday 31 October 2009 from 8pm until 1am in aid of "Fighting for Sight". Tickets to the Halloween party cost £8 which includes a buffet and disco by Purple Helix. Fancy dress is optional and there is a prize for the best costume.     2007

    Samhuinn Fire and Music Festival

    The annual Samhuinn Fire and Music Festival event for Aberdeenshire took place at the Coo Cathedral in Aboyne Castle Estate, Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, Scotland on the 27 October 2007. This marks the beginning of autumn and Samhuinn is a Gaelic word with the meaning end of the summer. It celebrates Halloween as a celebration of life and a time of harvest and the preperation for the winter months ahead. The Samhuinn Fire and Music Festival event started in Royal Deeside in the year 2002 and attracts over 1000 visitors to celebrate the Celtic New Year. Events during the Samhuinn Fire and Music Festival include poetry, story telling, food and drink, magic, face painting, stalls, circus skills workshops, jugglers, healers and masseurs, fire performances, giant fire spiral, fire sculpture, fireworks, firedragon, spiral fire, log candles, dancing, burning of a wicker crow to mark the end of the night, a bonfire and music from groups such as Old Blind Dogs, Peatbog Faeries, Gallow Crows, The Pictones, The Trybe and Woodland Orchestra. Samhuinn Fire and Music Festival goers and performers set up teepees, tents and Mongolian yurts.     Aberdeen Halloween Parties


    October 28 and 29 - Children can celebrate Halloween at Crathes Castle by taking part in their annual witch hunt. Children, and adults, are encouraged to come in Halloween fancy dress for the wizard and witch parade. The events start at 2pm


    The Satrosphere will hold a spooky science weekend in their discovery centre. On the 27 October 2006 there will be a Halloween children’s party. The Satrosphere staff will be dressed in Halloween costumes such as wizards and witches and will entertain children with games and shows. On the 28 and 29 October the entertainment continues with children being helped to make shrunken heads and given the opportunity to play a special spider game. There will be prizes for children who come in fancy dress and there will be other entertainment like face painting.


    Delgatie Castle On 29 October from 4 to 8pm Delgatie Castle, Turriff, Aberdeenshire is holding a children's Halloween party where there will be traditional Halloween games like dooking for apples, ghost stories, prizes for the best fancy dress, Halloween costumes and face painting. Spooky snacks and refreshments will be available and visitors may be joined by the Castle's ghosts such as Rohaise. Read more about the castle and ghosts.


    Halloween Treaure Hunt


    Dobbies Garden Centre, Aberdeen have an annual Halloween treasure hunt. It takes place from Saturday 28th until Tuesday 31st. Children who find 10 Halloween pictures ranging from black cats, ghosts, vampires and other scary creatures will be awarded a prize.


    On the 31 October any children who visit Merlin’s Grove at King Street in Aberdeen can join in the shop’s Halloween Party and get free sweets. There is also adult entertainment and demonstrations such as how to blend your own incense.


    Aberdeen Halloween Fancy Dress Competition


    The Mall Trinity are hosting a Monster Madness children's fancy dress Halloween competition on Saturday 28 October. There are two categories - those children aged from 3 to 6 years old and those aged from 7 to 12 years old. There is a £50 prize for each category and every child who enters will receive some ghostly goodies.


    2005

    October 28th - Castle Fraser is holding an adult storytelling event by Stanley Robertson, one of Scotland's leading storytellers and ballad singers. The event takes place in the Great Hall, in front of the open fire. Guests will be treated to a buffet and drinks. It starts at 7:30pm.     October 29th - Haddo House Hall present a Live Wire Productions fun and games called Little Horrors. The event is for those aged 8 - 12 years old. Children have to help Aladdin find his magic lamp whilst going around the building playing games and seeing theatrical tricks. For more information about Haddo House click here.


    October 29th and 30th - Children can celebrate Halloween at Crathes Castle by taking part in their annual Witch Hunt. Children, and adults, are encouraged to come in Halloween fancy dress. There will be a ghost hunt through the Castle, competitions, fancy dress prizes and a witches and wizards parade. It costs the normal admission charges to the Castle and £1 per child.     October 29th and 30th - The Satrosphere, Aberdeen is celebrating Halloween with a weekend of Mystical Mahem with slime, potions and spells. There will be prizes for the best children in fancy dress. For more information click here.


    October 30th - The Bon Accord and St Nicholas Shopping Centres are having a free event from 2 -4pm in the central atrium of the lower mall. There will be face painting, ghost stories, fancy dress and colouring competitions.


    Turriff Castle October 30th - Spooktacular Halloween Party At Delgatie Castle, Turriff, Aberdeenshire, AB53 5TD from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Get in the spirit of Halloween at Delgatie Castle's Halloween Party, activities include dookin for apples, face painting, ghost stories and prizes for the best costume. Spooky snacks will also be served in the Laird's Kitchen. The price is £4 per person.
