    Grand Prix World Snooker Tour Aberdeen


    From 21 October to 29 October 2006 The Grand Prix World Snooker Tour ranking event will be staged at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC), Scotland.


    The Grand Prix World Snooker Tour ranking event is one of the main events in the snooker calendar and this is the first time it has been hosted in Aberdeen City.


    The event will see the top 32 players in the world come to Aberdeen as they qualify automatically.

    The Grand Prix World Snooker Tour ranking event at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre will be televised by BBC Sport with live television coverage.


    Snooker stars who will come to The Granite City include Stephen Hendry, Graeme Dott (2006 World Champion when he beat Peter Ebdon in May), Ronnie O'Sullivan. Ken Doherty, Steve Davis, Ding Junhui and John Higgins, the current title holder.


    Tickets can be bought at the Aberdeen Box Office.


    The Grand Prix World Snooker Tour ranking event has been played in Preston, Derby, Reading, Bournemouth, Telford and Sunderland.

    This year's Scottish event has been organised by a public sector partnership which involved Event Scotland, Aberdeen City Council and the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) with an investment package of £80,000 and the provision of the AECC to secure the event for Scotland and Aberdeen.
