Garioch is a town in Aberdeenshire near Inverurie. The Bennachie mountain range overlooks the town and gives visitors some stunning views across Grampian.

Since 2005 Garioch holds a Theatre Festival in conjunction with The Rhona Mitchell School of Drama. Performances, workshops, shows and plays are held at the Wyness Hall in Inverurie.

2007 Garioch Theatre Festival

The 2007 Garioch Theatre Festival will be held from the 19 to the 29 April. Shows include Beef Soup, Stories Ma Grunny Telt Ma and Sweet Life.

2006 Garioch Theatre Festival

The 2006 Garioch Theatre Festival starts on the 14th April. The first performance is a Storytelling Day where the performers will dress up in Shakespearean costumes to celebrate the birthday of Shakespeare.

From the 20-22 April will continue the Shakespeare theme with Shakespeare With A Difference Twelfth Night and Hamlet. Performances start at 7:30pm and tickets cost either £6 or £4.

23 - The Folding Theatre Puppet Company will perform The Raven And The Sun at 3pm. Tickets cost £4.

26-28 - Banchory Academy performs Charley's Aunt by Brandon Thomas. Performances start at 7:30pm and tickets cost either £6 or £4.

29 - Al Seed In The Factory. This performance is only suitable for ages 12+. Tickets cost either £6 or £4 and the performance starts at 8pm.

30 - Workshop with Al Seed the performer in residence with The Arches in Glasgow.
