    Doors Open Day Aberdeen Scotland


    Free entry to historic buildings and places of interest with Doors Open Day Aberdeen Scotland such as the Tivoli Theatre, Masonic Temple, Fire Stations and the Old Town House in Old Aberdeen:


    Each year in September Scottish buildings and tourist attractions open their doors to the public for free. Many buildings which are not usually accessible to the public are open for the day with guided tours and events.


    The Open Doors Days have been held in Scotland since 1990 and the first Doors Open Day in Aberdeen was in 1994 and held each year since.








    Buildings that have been opened and held an event included:


    Tivoli Theatre, Aberdeen - Usually has song and dance entertainment
    Marine Lab, Torry
    Town House, Aberdeen
    Sheriff Court House, Aberdeen
    Fire Stations
    King's College, Aberdeen
    Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen
    Cathedrals such as St Andrew's and St Machar's Cathedral Aberdeen
    Churches such as Queen Street Church, Aberdeen
    Kirk of St Nicholas
    Grampian Police Headquarters, Queen Street, Aberdeen Control Room Tours
    Garthdee House on Garthdee Road
    Arts Centre, Aberdeen
    Tullos Primary School
    Masonic Temple, Aberdeen

    Doors Open Day Bus



    An open top bus operates tours from some of the locations. It operates from 10am until 3pm leaving from Marischal College, Broad Street, Aberdeen. The Doors Open Day Aberdeen bus will then visit Old Aberdeen, Glover House in the Bridge of Don, the Beach Esplanade, Footdee and Aberdeen City centre.





    From August to September there is a helpline where you can obtain a free brochure. See the website links further below for the telephone number.

    The 2008 Doors Open Day Aberdeen will be held on: TBA
    The 2009 Doors Open Day Aberdeen will be held on: TBA

    The 2004 Doors Open Day Aberdeen event saw 14,000 visitors.


    The 2005 open day was held on: Saturday 10th.
    The 2006 open day will be held on: 9 September
