3D Cinema Aberdeen
In October 2007 Cineworld became the first 3D cinema in Aberdeen. Cineworld uses a special projector called the Real D system which is fitted with triple dimension sights whilst the audience wear special 3D spectacles with filters to see the 3D effects.
This new digital technology is then projected onto the liquid crystal screen so that audiences can see special effects leap out in front of their eyes.
The first 3D film to be shown in Aberdeen Cineworld will be Beowulf in November which stars Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone and Angelina Jolie about a warrior called Beowulf who must fight and defeat a monster called Grendel.
Later films in 3D at Cineworld Aberdeen include Avatar by director James Cameron. Avatar will be released in 2009 and stars Sigourney Weaver and is about a band of humans that battle against a distant planet's indigenous population. Steven Spielberg will be working with Peter Jackson on a trilogy of Tintin 3D films.
Other film directors are hoping to reformat their older films so that they can be screened in a 3D cinema. For example George Lucas wants to do 3D work on the first Star Wars film starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Peter Cushing whilst Peter Jackson hopes to reissue King Kong as a 3D film.

is not yet on the Cineworld Cinemas website but the information you need is in the ugccinemas
website.
