ChildLine Aberdeen, Scotland Golf Open Tournament

The 2007 annual ChildLine Aberdeen Golf Open Tournament will take place at Newburgh-on-the-Ythan Golf Course on Friday 7 September 2007 with a shotgun start of 11 am. The event raises funds for ChildLine Scotland North and North East and the Aberdeen counselling centre. Teams of four are invited to take part. At 9:30 am bacon rolls will be provided for the golfers and after the Child Line Aberdeen Golf Open Tournament there will be a two course meal with coffee followed by prize giving, a draw and charity auction.

ChildLine Scotland is a free Scottish helpline for children and young people in danger or distress. It provides a telephone counselling service for any child with any problem. Every day around 725 children and young people call ChildLine Scotland but currently lack of funds means that only around 396 are able to get through to their counsellors for comfort, advice and protection. They still have a long way to go before they can answer every caller at their first attempt, but they know that their ever growing team of trained counsellors in Aberdeen are making a considerable difference.

You can help by donating directly to the charity, providing prizes for the auction and raffle or sponsoring or attending their fund raising activities, such as this golfing day.

Find Extra Work We also run the www.findextrawork.co.uk website where there is information about earning more money from a range of part time and full time jobs which can be done at home or out and about. Visit for more information.

The event is being sponsored by the Evening Express and other North East companies, which includes www.aboutaberdeen.com who are sponsoring a golf hole. Do look out for our flag!

The Newburgh-on-the-Ythan Golf Club are donating the course for the day, allowing all entry fees to go directly to ChildLine Scotland.

Golfing teams of 4 people can take part for £240, with all proceeds going directly to the charity. For this each team gets:
    • Breakfast upon arrival
