Castlegate Christmas Tree Ceremony Aberdeen
2007
The Christmas tree and lights will be at the Union Terrace Gardens in 2007 rather than at the Castlegate. The Union Terrace Gardens Christmas tree lights
will be switched on at about 5:30pm with a service starting from 4pm on the 2 December.
There is a carol concert in aid of UNICEF at Queen Street Church, Aberdeen beforehand from 2:30 - 3:30pm. Tickets cost £5 for an adult and £3 for children. Then a
Norwegian choir will lead a procession down to the Castlegate. The Union Terrace Gardens Aberdeen Christmas tree was donated by Aberdeen's twin city of
Stavanger
in Norway.

After the Union Terrace Gardens Christmas Tree Ceremony switch on in Aberdeen there is a free concert of Grieg Classics at St Marks Church on Rosemount Viaduct
with the Lord Provost and the Norwegian Consul.

The Castlegate Christmas Tree Switch On for 2006 was a free event though and the tree had been donated by Aberdeen City twin town of Stavanger. The
Castlegate Christmas Tree lights was switched on by Aberdeen Lord Provost John Reynolds and the Mayor of Stavanger. There was a programme of songs and music.

On Sunday the 4th December the Castlegate Christmas tree will have its lights switched on during an
interdenominational religious ceremony service from 4 - 5pm.
This will include prayers and carol singing.
