Ara Paiaya Aberdeen Kung Fu Film Director Actor
Ara Paiaya was born on the 29th November 1977 in Armenia but moved to Aberdeen, Scotland as a boy. His father
taught him martial arts and acrobatics. He was educated at Cults Academy and Robert Gordon University. He now lives
and works in Aberdeen producing and acting in Kung Fu movies.

Films of Ara Paiaya
Ara Paiaya was the producer and actor of a series of martial arts Kung Fu slapstick films set in and around
Aberdeen. His trilogy of Dubbed and Dangerous films and Night Rider film have been shown at The Belmont Picture House
Cinema Aberdeen with plans to take them to the Cannes Film Festival.
Dubbed and Dangerous
The first film, Dubbed and Dangerous, was filmed and released in 2001, Dubbed and Dangerous 2 in 2003
and the third film Dubbed and Dangerous 3 was filmed in 2004 and released in 2005. In all three films Ara Paiaya
acted the part of Agent Ara as well as working as the producer and director. Friends and family play the other roles and he has
also been able to get Hollywood stars such as martial arts film star and writer Bey Logan and Robert Englund who is
most famous for playing Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare On Elm Street films to star in his films. The Dubbed and
Dangerous trilogy is now available to buy on DVD.
As a result of making his own films and choreographing the fight and stunt scenes he had a part in the
Jackie Chan film The Medallion (called Highbinders in some Countries).
Night Rider
In 2005 Ara Paiaya made the film Night Rider. He also acts in this film as the character
Buddy who has a car that talks. It is a bit like Kitt in Knight Rider but with Kung Fu action! It features a cameo role
by Hong Kong film director and actor Robert Tai who made films such as Shaolin Dolemite, Trinity Goes East and Fist of
Legend 2: Iron Bodyguards.
Death List
In 2006 Ara Paiaya will release the film Death List. It will premier at the Belmont Picturehouse, Aberdeen. It was
filmed in Aberdeen as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong, London and Spain. It stars kung fu actor Robert Tai and was produced
by Bey Logan who has worked with Jackie Chan. Local Aberdonians were used as extras and actors during the Aberdeen
filming. This includes Cameron Stout. Viewers will be able to make out the Mounthooly roundabout.
Ara Paiaya is now making the film Kung Fu Kingdoms.
Television Work of Ara Paiaya
Television celebrity Jonathon Ross (Film 2005 TV programme) is a big fan of Ara Paiaya and they worked on
the TV series Stop! Kung Fu! and Eastern Heroes: The Video Magazine - Volume 2.
