    Annie Inglis - Aberdeen Author - The Adventures Of Hannah And The Garden Gate


    Annie Inglis lives in Old Aberdeen and was a drama lecturer at Aberdeen College of Education.


    At the age of 83 she wrote her first book called The Adventures Of Hannah And The Garden Gate. The main character is a naughty little girl called Hannah and the books depict her antics. The series will include local Aberdeenshire attractions such as the Duthie Park.

    Nicola Moir, a designer, illustrated the books.


    Annie Inglis is also a poet and has directed plays in the local area. She still does workshops in performing arts and drama for local groups such as the Aberdeen Arts Centre.

    The fond nickname of Annie Inglis is Aberdeen's First Lady of Drama.

    In the December 2007 New Year's Honours list Annie Inglis was made an MBE (Member of British Empire).
